written for all Glogoners
Glogon....My Glogon
Homeland of my birth.,
Now, as an adult...,
I have you not.
The land I loved...,
I've not forgot.
Still remembered....
Etched deep in my heart.
Many of our loved ones...
Were left behind,
Buried in Banat
in the fertile soils of time.
From Prison, we left
cold and confused, into the night.
Not knowing our destiny,
Uncertain of our plight.
With pride and dignity in our heart,
We somberly turned, looked around,
The time had come, for our depart,
Goodbye, forever, to our Church and town.
Through sweat, blood,and tears,
Escaped to the freedom of the West.
Endurance, survival, hiding our fears,
Oh, Glogon, you were the best.
Still, etched in our hearts today,
Memories and stories of the past
The hopes and dreams of yesterday,
Have come to fruition at last.
A simple place, in Banat
where humble families felt free,
harvested the fertile lands,
Living in perfect harmony.
'O Glogon, my Glogon
Land of my roots and family
'O Glogon, my Glogon
You were home to me.
